About Robin

My Approach

If there are health behavior changes that you have wanted to make and have not known how or have not been successful, integrative health coaching may be for you. If you are confronting a new health concern or diagnosis and are feeling overwhelmed, integrative health coaching has proven positive results. This field bridges the gap between health or medical advice given to you by specialists and putting them into action in an effective way. Integrative health coaching motivates and supports health and other behavior change through a structured partnership between client and coach. You will develop and realize your values and optimal vision of health through inquiry, personal discovery, and accountability. Health coaching offers the opportunity for you to collaborate with an experienced and non-judging partner to create the kind of health you have envisioned, but have difficulty accessing. You can begin with any obstacle that blocks your path to optimal health.

Training and Education

I trained through the eleventh cohort of Duke Integrative Medicine’s (IM) Health Coaching Program in 2012. Additionally, I completed Duke IM’s Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Writing to Heal courses.  I am currently working toward Duke IM Health Coach Certification, to be completed in 2018.

In 2004, I graduated with honors and received her BA in Romance Languages through UNC-Chapel Hill. After gaining managerial experience within various organizations, I settled in the field of Early Childhood Education in 2010. I earned my NC Early Educator Credentials and Certification that same year, and worked in preschool classrooms with children age 6 weeks to nearly 6 years. In 2014, I was awarded a scholarship and obtained my M. Ed. in Early Childhood Education Leadership and Administration from UNC-Greensboro in 2017.  My understanding of child development greatly influences my work and has brought valuable insight into the inner motivations of adults.

My Philosophy

I am a true believer in the power of mindful awareness and its ability to bring peace and fulfillment into our lives. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 11, I have gained a wealth of experience in dealing with chronic illness, autoimmune complications, depression, anxiety, and a variety of eating disorders. As a sensitive empath, I understand the difficulty involved with processing one’s own pain and dealing with the pain of the world.  Having harnessed the power of my own suffering to make a path to a positive way of living, I am helping others to realize a fulfilling life by way of the health coaching services I know to be effective.
